Sunday's Blessing
Based on Psalm 42-43
Dear Church,
May you have a regenerative longing for the living God like a deer which needs water, and have this grace of longing satisfied in joyful worship each Lord’s Day…
As you each take your God-given places in festive praise, in his rest-giving presence.
When the world tauntingly asks,
“Where is your God?”
And spiritually wounds you (cf. Matt. 27:42-44)
May you preach the gospel of God to our souls so that sin, the flesh, and Satan would by faith conquered with…
—Rest in Christ’s active and passive obedience; and with
—Revelation that God has the lasting final word…
Because God comes through on every one of his promises and over every wave of providential trouble:
—to deliver you in covenant relationship with him
—to keep you by his own mighty grip on you
—to vindicate you in his resurrection
Spices and fragrances for the empty tomb do not compare to the music by night and the light by day he has given each your souls in Jesus Christ for life’s way forward!
Amen.
